Biomechanics
Biomechanics is an area of podiatry concerned with the movement of the body and it can be used to diagnose and treat pain and discomfort from the back down to the toes.
Biomechanics is for everyone - you don't have to be sporty or even very active for it to benefit you.
Most people have a biomechanical assessment because they're experiencing pain within the lower limbs. This pain can be anywhere from the back down into the feet.
You don't have to have a specific sports injury, it may just be pain which is present when walking or doing a specific movement.
We can also offer biomechanical assessments to improve posture or prevent and reduce the risk of injury.
Further ways we can help
- Our biomechanical treatments often run simultaneously with other forms of healthcare, such as physiotherapy and osteopathy. We'll work together to improve the biomechanics and eradicate pain.
- Treatment can include an orthotic which is an insole that goes into your shoe in an attempt to improve foot/lower limb function, encourage shock absorption and relieve symptoms.
